Did you get the cloth bags?

Or can you not even do next to nothing to help?

To bad sarcasm can't help the environment, you'd be our own greenpeace!

I just replaced my light bulbs with the new GE "break it and die from exposure to mercury but you're saving energy!" bulbs. Bought mine at the Dollar General. It's pretty much the least I can do, but that added element of danger really makes me feel like I'm risking my life to save the earth. Until I have to throw the bulb away, I guess. Not sure what happens to the environment then.

Oh, and I'm upgrading to cloth grocery bags this week. Again, because I'm looking for ways to save the environment that require next to nothing from myself. The way I figure it, this works out mathematically into extra environmental savings. After all, to do anything really impressive takes a lot of energy. As we all know, the production of a lot of energy in turn causes the production of a lot of waste.

So, by not doing anything I'm actually doing something. Math rules!

I agree!

The only people who recycle on a daily basis in St. Petersburg are the Times staff. And they put all the junk into the TBT.

Anyway, we should be leaders, not followers in this area.

I recycle my plastics, not to be elite or green, but to take some minuscule responsibility for my actions.

This is not a positive idea right now though.
