“At the Red House, where black people and white people buy furniture.”
So, there’s a furniture store in High Point with the above motto. It’s called the Red House. According to an article in the Observer, the shop has garnered attention recently because of its bizarre Youtube commercial. Check it out:
“We thought the idea was hilarious to use race and racial reconciliation as a marketing angle,” Neal [one of the singers] said Monday. “We also knew it would raise eyebrows and spark discussion.”
The Red House has been in business for 50 years and offers new and used furniture.

Rep. Alcee Hastings reads a list of sexual fetishes on the floor of the House.
From Gawker.com:

Last night mega-star actor Will Smith was in Charlotte for a charity event/screening of his new movie Seven Pounds at Regal Stonecrest. Smith donated 300 turkeys to the Second Harvest Food Bank and CL stalked him on the red carpet. Here’s the proof. Sex columnist Dan Savage is speaking out on Proposition 8, which amended the California state constitution to restrict the definition of marriage to a union between a man and a woman.
Here here he is on The Colbert Report
And here he is on Anderson Cooper 360
In related news, Savage and others are calling for a boycott on the state of Utah (the passage of the same-sex marriage ban in California was heavily funded by the Mormon Church). In response, the Salt Lake City Weekly has stopped running Savage’s sex advice column.
