...And another thing!

I think it's weird he's upset about it being for free.

When the last time he paid for a CL?

I think Rich is missing the point on this one. He didnt factor in one important thing.
FUN.
It might be FUN to write something and have the chance of 600,000 people reading your thoughts on the back of CL.

But yeah, I will give him the point of a "chance to win concert tickets!" is pretty silly. But who cares...

Relax. Have some fun, Rich.

I enjoy your publication and think y'all do a pretty good job of covering the local scene, but you do realize why no one's doing this, right? (Except that one person who probably has some sort of ties to the band reviewed.) Do any of your staffers (or even your freelancers) write concert reviews for free?

The *chance* to win "free concert tickets" (assumedly, a random concert which the reviewer will have no choice about) does not equal submitting your publishing rights to Creative Loafing.

The fact that you specifically ban people from trying to use the Creative Loafing name to get into shows (which they pay for) and then review them for you (for FREE) is ludicrous and hypocritical, especially when someone who wants to review shows with no remuneration can easily start a blog and write whatever they want with no word limit, no deadline, and no worries about being edited by a stranger.
