For today’s installment of Roll Call we call out Sam Fogarino, the enigmatic drummer behind Interpol and his new group, Magnetic Morning. The latter group is a more recent collaboration between Fogarino and Swervedriver singer/guitarist Adam Franklin, Jimmy LaValle (the Album Leaf), FA Blasco and Josh Stoddard. Their debut full-length, A.M., balances spaced-out quietude with deep dark resonance. At the heart of it all is a shared admiration for lush pop tones that pushed to the brink of sensory overload before reeling back in for a dose of slow motion melancholy.
