CSO does the Who
March 12th, 2009 by Chad Radford in Music newsIt’s surely a matter of rock and roll sacrilege to some, but the Cobb Symphony Orchestra and Georgia Youth Symphony Orchestra are indeed paying a musical homage to the Who this weekend. These songs are already quite grand in their original form, so it’s not really a stretch to see them given the orchestra treatment. But it is unreasonable to expect that the entire Cobb County Symphony — even when backed by the Georgia Youth Orchestra — could come close to capturing one iota of the sheer power and charisma of Keith Moon.
“Considered one of the finest groups to take the stage, get this first opportunity to see Michael Alexander, guests Tim Whalen, Jamie Ryan, members of the Georgia Youth Symphony and Cobb Symphony perform a complete set of works from The Who – including “Tommy,” “Quadrophenia” and many other great hits!”
Tickets for the show are $15-$50. Murray Arts Center of Mount Paran Christian School on Fri., March 13 and Sat., March 14. 8 p.m. both nights. To Reserve your seats call 770-429-7016 or click the photo above.
