Beastie Boy MCA diagnosed with cancerous tumor
July 20th, 2009 by Chad Radford in Music newsLast week MCA, A.K.A. Adam Yauch of the Beastie Boys, was diagnosed with a cancerous tumor in his left parotid gland. The tumor was diagnosed early and is localized in one area of his throat, and is considered treatable. Yauch will most likely undergo surgery next week, which will be followed by several weeks of treatment. As a result the group has had to cancel several shows over the coming months, and push back the Sept. 15 release date for the first installment of their forthcoming full-length, Hot Sauce Committee.
