T.I. feels driven after prison

Penitentiary time — rap’s answer to the sabbatical

It seems like rappers come outta jail more focused than a mug, don’t they? While T.I. serves out the remainder of his sentence at a local halfway house, he’s already getting busy in the studio, XXL reports. He recently produced a track titled “Fifth Dimension” for label mate and mentee B.o.B aka Bobby Ray, which should appear on The Adventures of Bobby Ray, due April 27.

“He actually left jail and went straight to the studio, apparently,” said B.o.B., in an interview with Rap-Up TV. “We did some stuff for his album, my album and really just got in there to get the vibe… Since he’s been released… he has something to prove now. I feel like he has a deeper fire, his whole approach; he has more motivation.”

Part of me wonders if serving time in the pen has that effect on non-rappers, too; but another part of me prefers not to find out.
