Rodriguez comes to Criminal Records
The revolutionary ’60s psych. singer-songwriter Rodriguez makes his Atlanta debut as part of Criminal’s RSD celebration

For this year’s Record Store Day celebration (Sat., April 17) Criminal Records’ stage will host ‘60s psychedelic singer-songwriter Rodriguez as he makes his first appearance in Atlanta ever.

Rodriguez was Detroit’s answer to Hendrix, Donovan, Dylan and the Temptations, all rolled into one man with a guitar, and is best known for the song, “Sugar Man” from his 1970 LP, Cold Fact.

For this show, Rodriguez will play a full set starting at 11 p.m. (backing band to be announced). The store will close its doors at 10 p.m. and reopen them at 10:30 p.m. Tickets for the show come attached to a limited, hand-numbered gold vinyl 7-inch that can be purchased at Criminal for $10, and are already on sale. The record is pressed in an edition of 300 and is Criminal’s version of the Light in the Attic Records single, featuring the songs “Inner City Blues” (recorded live in the streets of Paris) b/w “I’m Gonna Live Til I Die” (a live rendition of the Frank Sinatra classic).
