A primer for the Atlanta Mess-Around

The Mess-Around is takes over East ATL this weekend with a face full of good, old fashioned rock and roll debauchery

?
The second annual Atlanta Mess-Around is taking over The Earl and 529 this Fri., Sat. and Sun with a face full of good, old fashioned punk, power pop, garage and rock and roll debauchery. Tickets are still available for shows at both clubs.

For those who are unfamiliar, the following primer (below the jump) offers a song from all of the bands that are playing this weekend — all but the New York-based band, Games. They don’t have any mp3s or photos yet, but they feature former members of the Close and the Electric Shadows along with ATL expats Joseph Plunkett of the Weight, and Jeremy Thompson of the Busy Signals. Jeremy says they don’t sound much like the Busy Signals. “We cover a Baroques’ song and a Billy Nicholls’ song so I guess its more 60’s influenced?? I dunno, you should come see us. Were playing VERY EARLY.” (Games are playing at 2:30 on Sat. afternoon at 529 to be exact).
