Just as the masses are spilling out of the Masquerade after the Scion rock fest. another installment of Fringe Factory will be firing up at the Highland inn just up the street.

This months Fringe Factory will feature standard fair of fuzzed out vintage international psych., rock, garage, freakbeat, prog, soul, exotica, surf, R-n-B, soul and rock-n-roll from the ’60s beig spun  Djs Vikki V and Suzy Q, along with guest DJ Ty Jesso from Providence RI.

There will also be a live perfromance by the Jaguars, a newish trio that features members of the Soulphonics.

The Lost Cause DJs (a.k.a. Adam Renshaw and Shannon Mulvaney of Anna Kramer and the Lost Cause) bring “Geology 101″ to the Highland Inn tonight from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m.

Prepare yourself for a history of “rock” as they spin records that school all within earshot about the ins and outs and obscurities of music that matters. Expect a face full of power pop, bong rock jams, punk, metal and psychedelic journeys. You will hear a lot of songs that you know and love, and you’ll hear even more that you’ve never heard before. Renshaw and Mulvaney are a couple of record store dudes. This kind of thing is what they do, and they do it well.

Beginning this Thursday night (Sept. 4 ) Kirkwood Ballers Club will keep the party going late-night with DJ Zano at the controls every Thursday night at The Highland Inn Ballroom Lounge, from 10 p.m. ’til 2 a.m.

Zano is already a become a regular fixture at the KBC, spinning sets of dub, bugged-out turntablism, funk and electro minimalism. As of this Thurs. these sets will extend beyond the Ballers Club, which typically wrap-up around midnight. So now the the vibe will go on for as long as the law will allow.
