Nine NEA grants awarded in Georgia

Today the National Endowment for the arts announced the recipients of its 2009 Grant Awards: American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. Nine Georgia nonprofit arts organizations were among the 631 recipients announced today, including the Atlanta Ballet, Atlanta Contemporary Art Center and the National Black Arts Festival. Together, they’ll receive a total of $625,000 of the more than $29 million awarded. At $250,000, the Fulton County Arts Council will bring home the biggest chunk. Funding for the grants comes from a $50 million federal economic stimulus recovery package. Here’s your full list of winners:
