Specializing in teak furniture, women’s accessories and a whole lotta funky art, Bali Bay Trading Company brings a taste of Asia to the Bay Area. Founded 10 years ago by a husband and wife team, Bali Bay imports rare and one-of-a-kind items exclusively from Indonesia. (“There’s absolutely nothing made in China in the store,” says store manager Elisa Abolafia.) Gift possibilities abound, including gorgeous silk pillows (now 30 percent off), African-looking art produced in Bali (the locals are big fans of the style), and surprisingly inexpensive original oil paintings, carvings and statues. Need something for a girly-girl? Bali Bay makes its own line of sarongs. Got a fan of Hindu art on your list?
