The Short List: Bush plans Thursday night speech
January 13, 2009 at 6:00 am by Joe BardiI caught this 60 Minutes piece on the rise and fall of the price of oil and thought it a good one. Remember, every time they say “supply and demand,” you’re getting screwed.

And now, a special Short List editorial:
I was horrified by a story titled “Skimpy swimwear could be out at Fort DeSoto,” by Times Staff Writer Will Van Sant. The piece starts off simply enough, detailing how revealing bathing suits have some visitors to Fort DeSoto “outraged.” I’ve never met anyone “outraged” by swimwear, but I’ll take Van Sant’s word that these people exist. In the second paragraph, he writes:
“Skimpy thongs and G-strings that offer only superficial coverage of the backside will be banned in favor of bottom wear with more stopping power.”
Stopping power? What are we stopping? Do you shit in the water at the beach? I don’t. If you do, you should probably stop.
Other than that, banning revealing bathing suits at the beach is stupid. Don’t do it, Fort DeSoto.
