Tournament of Tacos voting begins tomorrow — better get tasting

CL’s Tournament of Tacos kicks off tomorrow with daily, taco-a-taco matchups between the competitors. First up, we’ll cut the thirty-two finalists down to a Savory Sixteen with two matches every day for a week. And this year, instead of just my stellar palate picking the winners, you get a chance to be heard.
How can you help determine the best taco in the Bay area, and get an opportunity to win valuable prizes? It’s simple:
Every day we’ll post a matchup (or two) that you can vote on. We’ll reveal the winners on the following day, along with my critic’s picks. We’ll also adjust the Tournament of Tacos brackets to reflect the changes, so you can check out how your picks stack up to both mass appeal and my more refined sensibilities. We’ll also randomly pick some voters to receive prizes. It’s a win-win, except, of course, for the inevitable loser of each match.
You can follow all the ongoing coverage at our Tournament of Tacos mega-site, which goes live tomorrow; it’s where you’ll find the daily match-up, the daily winners, and the updated brackets. To the seekers come great rewards — and I’m not talking about the prizes we’ll be handing out. A toasty corn tortilla loaded with crackling pork, bright cilantro and glistening lime is gift enough for true taco fans.
Get eating, fill out your brackets and root for your faves. It’s Taco Time, baby!
