Jettin’ to green: JetBlue’s new iniative for the environment
April 28, 2009 at 6:00 am by Michelle SchenckJetBlue Airlines has developed a new program called One Thing That is Green in honor of this year’s Earth Day. This program, lasting until June 16th, is a pledge by its participants to reduce and reuse this year for the betterment of the earth. Some of the pledges include reducing shower time, replacing standard light bulbs with energy efficient bulbs and adjusting your thermostat for 2 degrees this summer.
In return for this pledge of committing to doing one thing that is green, you will be entered into a sweepstakes for a chance to win eco-friendly prizes such as 3rd generation Prius, HGTV Green Room Makeover, a Trip for 2 to the Boulders Resort in Arizona, and more! Just for pledging, you will recieve an email to redeem a free digital magazine subscription through Zinio’s Read Green Iniative. Everyone is a winner!
JetBlue’s goal is to inspire 22,000 people to pledge and to passing on these simple, yet effective ways to go greener in today’s society. Last I checked, there were almost 48,000 pledges! It looks like more people then they even expected are trying to do their part!
Please check out JetBlue’s website for more information and official rules. Make your pledge today!
