Man Manual: hover and smother

Man Manual, advice #2: Don’t insist on doing everything with your boyfriend.
Your idea of fun might be a long day of primping and shopping, but for a guy that’s the furthest thing from his mind. God gave you “girlfriends” so as not to punish your man with your chick shit outings! Instead of dragging along your boyfriend for an endless day of wandering and waiting while being your human shopping cart, do it with your pals instead.
I’m not saying your man doesn’t want to spend time with you, but this isn’t the quality time he’s after. If the roles were reversed, would you enjoy several hours of playing video games with him? Your heart might be in the right place, but if you truly care don’t force him. Instead, enjoy this time to bond with your friends and to have some “you” time. Just like you need some space, your guy needs some time for himself too, whether it’s personal or with his buds.
Most of you have heard that saying absence makes the heart grow fonder, and when it comes to lasting relationships this is key. A sure fire way to kill the spark is to smother each other. You still have to have some things that are just yours. It keeps things interesting. When you’re around someone 24/7 you tend to end up pissing each other off one way or another. It’s great to have things to look forward to together. No one likes a nag after working a killer week!
So what if he wants to go out and have a couple drinks with his bros. Is it going to kill you to let him have a night for himself? If you worry every time he is with his friends that he won’t be faithful, then ask yourself why are you even together? (But that’s a whole other topic.) Just take a step back and see the big picture!
