The women of ‘G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra’

It’s getting better and better to be a nerd. Geeky girls have taken over Playboy and Twitter. Our favorite franchises from when we were wee little nerds are coming to the silver screen, like this week’s G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra. I won’t comment on the quality of the film (in fact the Rabid One and Hopp plan on liquoring up first just to make it through), but I’m totally qualified to review the lovely women who suited up to bring this G rated cartoon to a solid PG-13.
You didn’t think I’d start with the good guys did you? Growing up as a Rabid pup it was always the dominatrix suit and evil accent of The Baroness that made me think twice about rooting for the JOES. In The Rise of Cobra Sienna Miller picks up where my childhood fantasies left off. I wonder if she goes for dudes whose faces aren’t covered in metal?
Good guys like myself may fantasize about the bad girls, but in the end, the good guys (or in this case gals) come out on top. Covergirl, played by Karolina Kurkova, is a gorgeous model turned JOE for the war on Cobra.
And if we’re talking pretty women, and we’re talking about G.I.JOE, we have to finish with Scarlett. The ninjas and jocks may think they’re the real heroes but Ms. Scarlett is the key to the whole equation.
There you have it. A sampling of the sexyness in G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra. From the trailer, I won’t doubt that the women are the best part of the movie. Let us know what you think, and how about some credit for not making a sex pun off of “the rise of cobra”?
