Final day for Best of the Bay food and drink voting! Vote now!
August 31, 2009 at 12:10 pm by Brian RiesUPDATE: Voting extended to Noon on Wednesday!
Most of the races are still so close, anyone can win! (Except best steakhouse — it would take a beefy miracle to unseat Bern’s.) Vote now!
Here are some of the categories you should pay especial attention to:
Best New Restaurant: Queenshead Eurobar has taken the lead from Diner 437, but the margin is razor-thin.
Best Barbecue: Smoke is still edging out Jimbo’s, Kojak’s and First Choice.
Best Breakfast: Are you really going to let First Watch win?
Best Chef: At this point, it’s a showdown between Chris Ponte and Domenica Macchia. I just have one question: Should tattoos tip the scales?
Best Coffeeshop: Starbucks is in the lead, but there may be a vote-counting irregularity unless people log on and vote for runners-up Cafe Hey and Kahwa.
Best Cuban Sandwich: Hugo’s, Floridian and the Columbia are jowl-to-cheek.
Best Ice Cream/Gelato: St. Pete v. Tampa. Italy v. America. Paciugo v. Bo’s Ice Cream.
Best Italian: Bella’s is in the lead, but Ybor’s Laughing Cat is close enough to pounce.
Best Neighborhood Bar, Hillsborough: Tiny Tap has surged over the weekend, but Dubliner, The Hub and Four Green Fields can still close out with a win.
Best Thai: Jasmine leads, but Sukhothai and Royal Palace are within striking distance.
