See a panel discussion with Lance Armstrong, his coach Chris Carmichael, six-time defending Leadville Trail 100 (LT100) champion Dave Wiens (pictured) and other elite cyclists broadcast before the theatrical debut of Race Across the Sky. This cycle-mentary is about the LT100 race in Leadville, CO, which attracts more than 1,000 entries each year and challenges competitors to run, mountain bike, and scale a 14,000 vertical climb in less than 12 hours, often in grueling snow or hail. The Morean Arts Center and The Studio@620 continue to bring current art and issues to the community — this time, with the final of a month’s worth of advance screenings of Art21-Art in the Twenty-First Century, the national TV series with a focus on contemporary art. Founder (and former Buccaneer) Ian Beckles hosts his As*I*Be Magazine Launch at Floyd’s nighclub, with an on-site 93.3 FLZ radio broadcast with Rat and Puff to celebrate his new publication that promises the latest info on sports, nutrition, fashion, trends and events in Tampa. This just in: ladies drink free until midnight, so I’ll raise a glass to just about anything. The Gallery continues its trend of bringing works by noted artists to the area — this time with Works by Joseph Beuys by the German sculptor and installation artist, famous for promoting “concepts of humanism, social philosophy and anthroposophy” in his work.
