Fresh from the success of the Best of the Bay-winning Summer Sunset Cinema Series, The Studio@620 and Push Ultra Lounge once again team up to present a collection of classic films each Monday. Tonight’s selection in the Wilder to Williams Film Series — which includes the best of Billy Wilder and Tennessee Williams — is Williams’ This Property Is Condemned, starring Natalie Wood and Robert Redford (pictured). Athens quartet Modern Skirts have built up a respectable local following with their appealingly quirky alt pop. Gentle vocals are set against swaying, seemingly lacksadaisical melodies, synthesizer flourishes give it a dance music feel akin to Stereolab, and lyrics range from clear to cryptic, like the main refrain of “Soft Pedal” off their new self-released album, All of Us in Our Night: “I can’t shut off this stereo / You got on top and we both got off again / Give me a knife and a merry-go-round / You got on top and we both got off again.” The Old Ceremony, Glasgow and Alexander and the Grapes open.
