The Who are scheduled to perform at Super Bowl XLIV, which will be held Feb. 7, 2010, in Miami. This will be the band’s first North American performance since 2008. The biggest night in pro football and the Who? My dad (and probably yours, too) can now die happy. (But let’s hope they don’t! Die now, that is.)- On Dec. 11 – 17, select theaters across the country will screen a collection of performances by Dave Matthews Band, Gogol Bordello, and Ben Harper and Relentless7 in the flick, Larger Than Life … in 3D. Disclaimer: Watching DMB in 3D may make you believe the band is about to crash into you, baby.
- The Grand Ole Opry and MySpace join forces to bring a live stream of Saturday’s Ole show, which includes performances by Carrie Underwood and Martina McBride. Looks like MySpace finally found a way to one-up Twitter.
- Courtney Love plans to release a new album with her band Hole in January, titled Nobody’s Daughter and reportedly influenced by David Bowie and Pink Floyd. She also may just jump on the celebrity bandwagon of releasing a fragrance, which would also be called Hole.
- Britney Spears’ Twitter account was hacked, which resulted in posts declaring her love for Satan and her support of a new world order. Is this really any stranger than what she would’ve posted a couple of years ago during the pink wig era?
- Are you as GaGa for the Lady and Beyonce as they are for each other? Then check out two new songs featuring both of the pop stars. “Telephone” is off Lady GaGa’s upcoming The Fame Monster and features a cameo by Jay-Z’s leading lady, while Beyonce shares the spotlight in “Video Phone” with GaGa. What are diamond-encrusted and/or nearly-naked friends for?
