Do It Today: Garrison Keillor, ‘Til Death Do Us Part, or Lease A Wall
November 24, 2009 at 12:00 am by Franki Weddington
As a kid, my parents made me listen to every installment of Garrison Keillor’s A Prairie Home Companion on NPR (much to my chagrin). But despite my early disdain, the salt of the earth American poet, music lover, and captivating storyteller won me over in the end (along with a few millions other folks, too). Visit tbpac.org for tickets and info. Tues., Nov. 24, 7:30 p.m., Carol Morsani Hall, Tampa Bay Performing Arts Center, Tampa, $35.50-$59.50.
In ‘Til Death Do Us Part: Late Night Catechism 3 Sister offers hilarious lessons on the Sacraments of Marriage and Last Rites, including her own wacky version of The Newlywed Game in this sinfully funny stage production. Visit rutheckerdhall.com for more info. Nov. 24-28, 2 and 8 p.m. Tues.-Weds and Fri., 3 and 8 p.m. Sat., Ruth Eckerd Hall, Clearwater, $35.
For the Beach Arts Center’s Lease a Wall exhibit, six area artists offer works in a melange of mediums, including: acrylic and oil paintings by Michael Hurtack; mixed media by Cheryl Jones; oil on canvas by Eszter Karpati; acrylic and graphite work by Frank Saso; oil on canvas by Rosemary Utzinger; and water media from and Janet Ward. On display through Nov. 24. Visit beachartcenter.org for more info. Beach Arts Center, Indian Rocks Beach.
