Body odor-part of your online dating profile
Some dating websites will soon be able to match potential partners based on body odor. The start-up 
company Basisnote has developed a test to determine your body odor type, and enter it as an online code.
Scientists have known for some time that humans are naturally attracted to the smell of someone who has a high degree of genetic variation from their own. This is a natural mechanism for preventing inbreeding. Although we don’t go around sniffing each others’ butts, we do at least subconsciously analyze the smell of a potential mate.
While I agree that smell does play a huge role in who we find attractive, I doubt the usefulness of using a smell profile online. Read the rest of this entry »
