These Lamb Burgers are packed with flavors from the Middle East. Cumin, mint and parsley bring out the best in the lamb, while a sauce of tahini and lemon is a savory stand-in for mayo. Served on warm flat bread, the tiny burgers are very moist, even when cooked through. A Cucumber-Feta Quick Pickle adds bright flavor. In the same theme, delicate eggplant fries are served alongside. A blogger named Zack asked an interesting question the other day: What is Grimace?

The question is pretty short and to the point. What exactly is Grimace, the McDonald’s character? I mean Ronald McDonald is a clown, that’s pretty clear. And the majority of the remaining McDonald’s characters seem to have at least a passing resemblance or relation to McDonald’s food. The Hamburglar is a thief that steals hamburgers. Birdie is a giant bird. Not sure if she produces the eggs for Egg McMuffins or has some relation to Chicken McNuggets, but she’s pretty clearly a bird. Mayor McCheese has an enormous cheeseburger for a head. The Fry Guys look like a wad of French fries. Well, really they look like pom-pons, but at least the have some relationship to french fries, its in their name. Grimace? I guess he likes shakes. Or are they called partially gelatinated non-dairy gum-based beverages?

But what is he?

They are the small, oddly shaped fries, with one non-waffle side at Chick-Fil-A. Chances are, you may not even notice them, but there they are, lurking near the bottom.

It comes from the end of the potato when it’s sliced to be made into fries. It’s not a whole waffle fry, but more half waffle, half butt. Hence, Waffle Fry Butt.

You might be a Waffle Fry Butt fanatic, but personally I can’t stand them. They taste uncomfortable in your mouth, like you are eating a piece of fried skin. It’s smooth and a little darker than the rest of the fry.
