Dreaming of a first love breakup

Posted by Dream Momma on Nov. 4, 2009, at 2:45 pm

healingHands“Hi Dream Momma, I like your blog and was hoping you can help me as I think about this dream a lot. In the dream, I went with my family to visit my first love (of nearly a decade ago). I went in the house, and it was empty. Saw some things of his, then he appeared. We talked a little, all politely, openly, heart-achily. He wasn’t happy in his life, then his sister came in the room. She was really sweet, and was also stuck in a less than desirable situation. My current love joined us in the room and convo, and we ended up sitting and hugging all together, knowing that the shit was over, and we would help each other escape into happiness back in Atlanta. It was amazingly emotional.” (sic)

Posted by Katie M. on Sep. 20, 2009, at 1:04 pm

What’s the buzz on the latest issues in the Green Community? Check out what you may have missed this last week:

Hillsborough County receives $7.6 million federal energy efficiency grant- The county plans to use these funds to undertake energy efficiency and conservation projects on its facilities and vehicles.

The pursuit of sustainable happiness- Sustainability in relation to happiness here is used to denote something that is generative, something that will complete us and not deplete our energy levels, something that would inspire us to be better.

The pursuit of sustainable happiness

Posted by Shireen Chada on Sep. 15, 2009, at 8:30 am

happiness“There can be no real happiness until the soul finds its peace.” -Dadi Janki; Administrative Head, Brahma Kumaris

Everyone in the world I know is either in the pursuit of peace or happiness or both.  Welcome to my post, dear readers, which is going to be all about the pursuit of sustainable happiness.

I would like to give a brief synopsis of why and how I’m using the word sustainable in this context.  Just like green-related sustainability, it means a lifestyle that attempts to reduce our dependency on the Earth’s natural resources. Sustainability in relation to happiness here is used to denote something that is generative, something that will complete us and not deplete our energy levels, something that would inspire us to be better and, hence, more whole.

Rosario Dawson teaches me life lessons

Posted by Courtney Bishop on Aug. 25, 2009, at 4:03 pm

“Maybe we’re preparing ourselves for the next chapter of our lives.” August 17, 2009. 2:16 am. That’s what I told my friend Efren after watching Explicit Ills starring Rosario Dawson.

When Mother died (side: I always wanted to refer to my mom as “Mother” like they used to in old movies), I felt like our relationship wasn’t necessarily over. I kinda felt like she prepared me for what to expect after her physical body expired.

“Now when I die, Courtney, I’m gonna come back and talk to you,” she told me.

Whatever, creep. I knew she was serious, though. It’s just kind of a mind-fuck when shit really does happen. Read the rest of this entry »

Skipper’s by T.R. Robbins

I first really noticed her
when she was waddling out of the
bathroom door – either because her
hip was plastic or her tolerance
was low.
