I tend to seek out food made from good quality ingredients that haven’t been manipulated too much. I love to cook, and take pride in making things from scratch. I try to eat local, and like to know where my food comes from. That means that fast food and junk food are not everyday choices. But being married to a junk food aficionado introduced me to another world of options.

Some of those options have become cravings. I call those my guilty pleasures. They include Krispy Kreme doughnuts (plain glazed, of course), Popeye’s spicy chicken tenders and onion rings, and the Whataburger potato breakfast taquito. • Free makeup at department stores (Macy’s, Dillard’s, Nordstrom and a whole bunch more) as part of a class action lawsuit settlement

Krispy Kreme is honoring Obama’s Inauguration Day by offering a free doughnut of choice to every customer on January 20th. No purchase necessary and limit one per person. How sweet it is!

What’s better than FREEdom and democracy? Free food for just doing your civic duty, that’s what.

Tomorrow, several corporate stores are offering free food and drink if you show them your “I Voted” sticker. In fact, so many companies are offering free shit tomorrow that you could theoretically spend the whole day eating without paying a dime. (And for your early voters, many of the stores are going on the honor system and don’t require a sticker. Click the links for details.)

So, in that spirit, I’ve compiled the offers I know about for an Election Day Free Food Extravaganza itinerary. Ah, voting never tasted so good!
