Sex toys: my top 10 list

Posted by Peaches on Oct. 30, 2009, at 10:30 am

Glass cockSex toys used to be thought of as kinky, perverted, and taboo, but things have changed. When I first got married I thought I’d never need to masturbate or use a vibrator. This was in the mid 80’s when you couldn’t anonymously shop for sex toys online. Now it’s easier than ever to search for all kinds of sexual aids without having to brave a visit to a “Dirty Book Store.” If you’re new to the world of sex toys, here’s a top ten list of a few of my favorites.

Sex as stress relief

Posted by Peaches on Oct. 13, 2009, at 10:30 am

tied upFor those who work difficult jobs, sex is an important way to blow off steam.  My husband has a very stressful job, so I do my part to make his home life as pleasurable as possible.  One particular night my husband called home late from work. I could tell he had a rotten day because he asked if we had anything to drink.  At that moment I went into whore mode. It would take him a half hour to get home, which was enough time for me to plan his evening. Read the rest of this entry »

The proper reaction to a fake vagina… there isn’t one

Posted by Single White Female on Oct. 11, 2009, at 8:33 pm

The other night,  my friend Daniel, a delightfully cynical Irish fellow, asked me twenty questions about my vibrator: How long had I had one? Where did I keep it? What does it look like?

The longer this went, on the more curious I got. Why the sudden fascination? He had obviously seen one before. Most women don’t bother hiding them anywhere OTHER than the night stand or underwear drawer. His questions weren’t so much about vibrators, but how a woman would react to finding a similar toy, a fake vagina, in a male companion’s night stand. Read the rest of this entry »

Katy Perry is NOT naked in this post

Posted by Rabid Nick Refer on Jul. 8, 2009, at 7:45 pm

She’s not, seriously.  However, the pop princess DID sit down with Cosmopolitan, the magazine that knows more orgasm secrets than professional sex workers, for a fun little interview and photo shoot.  And, as you may have already guessed, The Rabid One would love to wear Ms. Perry’s cherry chapstick.

Here are some lovely excerpts from the piece: Read the rest of this entry »

5 options for sex outside the box, as Kendra Wilkinson does it

Posted by Emmalee on Jun. 9, 2009, at 8:00 am

After countless conversations about sex with friends, I was sad when I realized that a lot of people don’t try anything out of the ordinary in the bedroom. I can remember when I suggested something obscure to my boyfriend and how excited he was to know that I was on the same level. This brings me to my point: stepping outside your comfort zone with sex can make your sex life and everyday life much better.

I have thought of five creative suggestions to bring more pleasure in your sex life.

From Twilight to True Blood: What is it about Vampires that makes ladies’ hearts pound?

Posted by Rabid Nick Refer on May. 26, 2009, at 11:34 am

What is it about immortal blood sucking broodaholics that makes women swoon?  Is it the danger?  Is it the biting?  Because trust me girls, I can nibble your neck and I’ve been known to walk fast with a pair of scissors in my hand.  Or perhaps it’s something unattainable to us, the meek mortal man.

Vampire stories such as Twilight and True Blood are currently the hottest things on the market from books, to film/TV and even sex toys.  What gives?  The thought of having my blood removed from the warmth of my veins does not get me wild in the pants.  But the ladies, the ladies do love their undead bad boys.  They want to be taken to the edge and peer over the side.  It drives their juices and makes their heart feel a new sense of life.  The thought that you could be laying with your lover and in the throes of passion and he could take your life must be a mighty intoxicant.  But give me a shot of tequila over a chalice of blood any day.

Edward Cullen does have quite a few more desirable qualities than say Count Dracula.  For one he doesn’t consistently look like he’s heading to the opera.  He’s a moody, anti-social, and more Abercrombie than Hot Topic.  And you’d being lying if you couldn’t admit those eyes are DREAMY. Go ‘green’ in the bedroom with eco-friendly sex toys

Posted by Red on May. 5, 2009, at 2:50 pm

Nowdays, everyone is jumping on the ‘Green’ bandwagon, including the sex toy industry. More and more adult stores are offering eco-friendly relationship enhancement products” to help Mother Earth and offer non-harmful product alternatives(and probably boost sales by following the trend).

VibratorShopping.com, a reputable online retailer of adult products, now features an entire green line, and claim to be “one of the industry’s pioneers in the ‘Go Green!’ initiative.” Not only are they selling ‘eco-friendly’ vibrating and non-vibrating toys, they also offer a glass collection, natural lubricants, and 100% phthalate free (a harmful type of plastic) products. “Phthalates are currently being investigated for causing cancer, harming the reproductive system as well as harming the planet.” (Associated Content) Read the rest of this entry »

Kitty Fantastic on Sex, Health, and Wealth

Posted by Kitty Fantastic on Mar. 11, 2009, at 3:06 pm

The name’s Kitty Fantastic (that’s right frat boy, Super Pussy to you), and I’m just your typical Pro-Sex feminist, data junkie, and sex toy tester. I love video games; Camille Paglia and Audre Lorde; coffee ice cream; anything having to do with sex and sensuality (sometimes including coffee ice cream); the word “cunt”; Etta James; and my two cats – Loy and Bugler. The idea that women can be in control of their own sexuality and generate income from it just makes my labia glow.

I have a penchant for swearing, and my life is often sidetracked by the need to seek out new sex toys for myself, and often, friends. In between shopping trips, I can be found ranting about the inequitable treatment feminism and women’s sexuality get in our culture. My blog posts are meant to help correct all that. Sex, health, and wealth: they’re all interconnected. Do the math. Read the rest of this entry »

Advice from the Dildo Whisperer

Posted by David Warner on Feb. 5, 2009, at 7:09 pm

Yes, the Dildo Whisperer. She gives candid LGBT sex advice on my new favorite radio show, The Derek and Romaine Show, aka DNR. I stumbled onto DNR while flipping through the channels on XM Satellite Radio, whose recent merger with Sirius has yielded up cool stuff like SiriusOutQ, the radio-station equivalent of TV’s Here! or Logo, only lots raunchier.

Romaine Patterson’s name may be familiar; she’s famous for staging the Angel Action counter-protest when Rev. Fred “God Hates Fags” Phelps showed up to picket her friend Matthew Shepard’s funeral. Now she’s co-hosting DNR, a drive-time show that includes the Dildo Whisperer call-in segment. The sex advice is funny but useful for all orientations, I suspect, and surprisingly frank: I didn’t know they could say “snatch-licking” on the radio. FCC, you didn’t hear it from me.

Michelangelo Signorile, Frank DeCaro and other highly entertaining queers are also on the SiriusOutQ roster. You can find it at XM 98 and Sirius 109.
