On the Radar: Thrill the World

Posted by Franki Weddington on Oct. 20, 2009, at 12:30 pm

thrillerWelcome to On the Radar, where we preview up-and-coming arts events to mark your calendar for. This Saturday, St. Pete joins Michael Jackson fans across the world in an attempt to break the Guinness World Record for Largest Simultaneous Dance — in this case, the famed zombie-rific Thriller dance.

The Pier hosts Thrill the World, with music, food, activities and a pre-dance lesson for anyone who needs to learn the monster moves. Then, MJ achieves what no world leader ever has: a world united … by dancing cadavers. Read the rest of this entry »

You own the St. Pete Pier

Posted by Alex Pickett on Oct. 20, 2008, at 4:29 pm

The last two “visioning” meetings are tonight and tomorrow. This is your first (and best) chance to give the city your concept or guidelines for a new pier. Both meeetings start at 6 p.m. inside the Coliseum (535 Fourth Avenue North, St. Petersburg).
