Sushi lovers will want this

Tuesday, September 29th, 2009

“Hey Kim, what time is it?”

“Oh, it’s half-past salmon.”

“Huh?”

I guess you couldn’t really say that unless you had one of these … a sushi clock.(FYI: The sushi isn’t real; it’s art, people!)

What a great way to add color to your kitchen … and it’s not a bad conversation starter, either. If it weren’t for its price tag — $312 US dollars — I’d get one.

Of course, if the idea of raw fish makes you a little queasy, this might not be the timepiece you want to rely on.

To purchase one, visit Japan Trend Shop. (Side note: The battery is included but the manual is in Japanese. Oops).

Dress up your cupcakes with these Sophisti-Cakes cupcake wraps

A friend recently sent me a link to a site selling cupcake sleeves. What? Sleeves? Cupcakes don’t have arms!

These Sophisti-Cakes Roundabout sleeves are basically just strips of paper that can be wrapped around the base of a cupcake, but I’m impressed with how creative you can be with them. Check out these pics:

They cost $8.99 for a dozen. Eh, a bit steep. I’m sure you could just print them out yourself with a home printer.

Prehistoric cakes

Love it! Use this dinosaur cakelette pan (made by Nordic Ware) to create mini cakes for a children’s birthday party. How cute would a chocolate cake stegosaurous be?
