I've worked as a nurse for almost 10yrs. I expected more from this show. Nursing is a great profession and working as a team with other disciplines is how we save lives. Hawthorne paints a gray picture to the teamwork and effort put in daily to save lives. Lives are saved not by acting as if you are a one woman army. In the real world of healthcare that's how people die. I watched the first show and was totally disappointed. I felt this show could possible have an impact on people really wanting to be nurses. We have a major shortage. I know Jada Pickett is acting....I didn't see the image of a real nurse and it made me wonder who wrote the script. I saw a woman who treated everyone and everything like nothing worked without her calling the shots. I don't intend on watching the show again and after discussing it with my fellow nurses..."we were all disappointed". If you want to know who we are, I welcome you to come see what we do. TNT otherwise what you show is acting and is not a comparison to who we are in the nursing community....How can this show have a major impact on the hardwork and dedication nurses give daily to save lives with the help of Unit secretaries, doctor, respiratory therapist, paramedics, and all other disciplines. We are a team.....I depend on my team and they depend on me.....that'how we save lives. My nickname is ebony...my real name is Satrina Hill BS, BSN, RN
