Jazz Fest Schedule Released!
January 26, 2007 at 1:15 pm by David Lee Simmons in Randomly NotedMost of us who had returned to New Orleans post-Katrina were just happy to have ANY kind of Mardi Gras and Jazz Fest no matter how scaled-back or slimmed-down they might be. And they both were both.
This year, emboldened by the success of last years Jazz Fest attendance despite having to lop off one day, the second weekends Thursday organizers have decided to shoot the works and are bringing in an impressive array of newcomers and familiar faces.
MY FAVORITE NEWCOMERS: John Legend, Ludacris, ZZ Top
MY FAVORITE RETURNEES: Lucinda Williams, Allman Brothers Band
MY FAVORITE NEW WRINKLE: Harry Connick Jr. closing out the Acura Stage (now that the Neville Brothers are out, at least temporarily)
Heres the press release, which includes the basic schedule; the cube schedule (by day and by stage) will be announced later. Visit www.nojazzfest.com for more info..
