Goodbye and Hello
February 1, 2007 at 3:16 pm by Mosi Reeves in Scene & HerdOn Wed., Jan. 31, DJs Sky and Fudge held a Nod Factor 2
goodbye bash at the Five Spot Caf. Despite the cold and rain, plenty of ATL
heads showed up, from Dres tha Beatnik and Burn Unit B-girl Severe to Psyche
Origami and Arc the Finger owners Brian Knott and Kevin Elphick. Around 11:30
p.m., someone announced that Nod Factor 2 wasnt really ending, but switching
from a weekly party to a monthly event. So why were we there? It was cool,
though.
Alpha Noise Project performed in front of a screen
displaying kung-fu movies. Dres tried to hype the crowd, but people were too
busy drinking and conversatin. Sorry, Dres. Also, Prophetix performed for the first
time in over a year. Apparently the trio now hold down steady jobs, are married
with kids, and dont have time to do the backpack hip-hop thing like they used
to. But for one night, they rekindled the magic.
I tried to take pictures, but they all came out too dark. What can I say? I aint Joeff Davis.
