Auburn Fest seeks performers
April 3, 2007 at 10:03 am by Chante LaGon in Randomly NotedOne of the things I always look forward to in the spring is the Sweet Auburn Springfest. Between the people-watching, carnie food and vendors selling everything from T-shirts to sunglasses to sterling silver jewelry, it’s hard not to be excited.
This year’s fest is May 11-13, along Auburn Avenue from Boulevard to Piedmont Avenue.
Although I’ve only once camped out at one of the stages, there’s usually something worth lingering for coming from the various speaker blocks. There are a couple of opportunities for folks who want to perform:
On the Sweet Auburn Springfest site, it says auditions are being held Saturdays from noon-3 p.m. at Diamond Elite Studio, 254 N. Main St., Jonesboro. Appointments are a must, and the registration fee is $35-solo, or $75-group. For more info, contact Charlotte Cain, 770-322-7020 or cwebinc@bellsouth.net.
Also, according to an e-mail from OBK Productions, it is hosting a stage and signing up performers now:
RAPPERS, SINGERS, DANCERS, & POETS

REGISTRATION IS $50.00 (for 5 minutes)
