If you think fighting off dogs and water hoses in the ’60s was bad, imagine if we sit idly by and let the right-wing Republicans take control of the Fulton County Commission.

I notice a lot of people are decrying those ads as race-baiting.
The way I see it, they’re a bit hyperbolic, but basically true. Right-wing Republicans are either outright racists or crypto-racists, with only a few exceptions, and they want to drag us backwards into de facto segregation. They should not be trusted.

Of course, that ignores that the Republican party was founded by abolitionists, that Republicans in the House and Senate teamed with LBJ to pass the Civil Rights legislation of the early 60’s while Dems like Al Gore Sr and William Fulbright (Clintons mentor) fought the landmark legislation. All those great segregationists like George Wallace, Bull Connor and Talmadge were all Democrats. It also ignores that Bush has appointed more diverse people to important positions than any President before him.
