The Moth Tour hits Atlanta

The Moth, a nonprofit storytelling organization, is coming to Atlanta on its first national tour at 7 Stages Theatre tonight. The storytellers include Atlanta’s own Baton Bob, and also Jonathan Ames, Edgar Oliver (right; photo provided by MK PR), Jeffery Rudell and Amber Kincaid.
As much of a nuisance as some of us think moths can be, the organization’s founder, George Dawes Green, would say these insects deserve more credit than they receive. They are the sole reason the Moth, founded by Green in 1997, came about. Green wanted to re-create his time spent with friends storytelling on warm summer nights on St. Simons Island, where there were a plethora of moths all getting trapped by the light. The storytellers do not read from notes, and they must tell tales with a predetermined theme.
$15. 7 p.m. 1105 Euclid Ave. 404-523-7647. www.7stages.org.
