Boortz damns Bush with faint phrase

August 2, 2007 at 2:33 pm by Andisheh Nouraee in News

Neal Boortz joined eight other conservative radio talk-show hosts at the White House yesterday for a meeting with President Bush.

Says Boortz on today’s Nealz Nuze Web page:

“I was particularly impressed by his grasp of the political and cultural interactions among the various Muslim sects and countries of the Middle East.”

A guy who doesn’t know anything or care to know anything about “various Muslim sects and countries of the Middle East” is impressed by a guy who appears to know slightly more than he does.

It’s 2007. Praising Bush for grasping “interactions” of “Muslim sects” is like praising a plumber for bringing a plunger to work.

“Hey, Neal, how was that plumber you had over to the house the other day?”

“I was particularly impressed by his grasp of unclogging the various drains in my bathroom.”

Despite being impressed with the president’s intellect, Neal’s visit gave him cause to whine:

“Now .. just so you know. When a reporter for the Washington Post, CNN or any of the big three broadcast networks is invited to spend some time in an off-the-record conversation with the president, that’s all hunky dory. But when a conservative (I’m now sure they know I’m a libertarian) talk show host is invited to discuss issues with the president, we’re simply there to get our talking points and marching orders.”

Do you hear that, people? NO REPUBLICAN TALKING POINTS FROM NEAL BOORTZ.

Other Nealz Nuze items today include:

“How long have I and other talk show hosts been telling you that Democrats are invested in failure in Iraq?”

“Has there ever before been a time in America where a major political party would virtually pray for our defeat in a war so that they could demonize the leader? …”

“What we’re seeing here is simply an attempt to bring Hillarycare – socialized medicine – quietly through the back door. “

“… Obama illustrated vividly that he is not seasoned enough, or perhaps just flat-out not qualified, to be our president.”

i’m astounded at a headline today in which Gates admits “US underestimated depth of Iraq divisions.”

How is it possible, in 2007, that this is news? “Sunnis and Shias differ in doctrine, ritual, law, theology and religious organisation. It is the largest and oldest division in the history of Islam.”

  2. dpb Says:

I’m surprised you buy into the Whitehouse talking points nonsense. You honestly don’t believe that these talk show hosts have their own opinions?

  3. Mr. T Says:

Let me take this one Randalshed, you terrorist you: Dear dpb, I believe they believe they have their own opinions. But at some point the similarity between what they say and what the White House or RNC distributes daily moves far beyond coincidental. You are being Michael Jackson ignorant.

  4. Dale Says:

Yeah, that’s why three of the hosts there led the fight to defeat Bush’s Immigration Reform and handed him his most embarrassing political defeat? All of those present routinely hammer him on various points. All of them agree with him on most things, but ALL of them criticize him on their pet issues.

Does the similarity between your statements and those of leftists I know mean you have no opinion of your own?

  5. Dale Says:

I am sure i will be called a douchebag soon.

  6. Andisheh Nouraee Says:

I don’t recall asserting that Boortz or anyone else agrees with President Bush all the time about all things.

Nevertheless, Boortz has no business bitching about “talking points.”

    1. Boortz’s foreign policy pronouncements perfectly mimic Republican talking points.

    2. The rest of Neal’s Nuze is filled with ridiculous right-wing talking points that are repeated nearly verbatim on countless web sites.

  7. Dale Says:

I didn’t say that you did, but talking points certainly implies mindless propoganda scripts for Bush. My point is that clearly is not the case. I was responding more to Mr T, I just wasn’t very clear about that and didn’t realize it until I clicked send.

Boortz was responding to critics who accuse conservative talk hosts of spouting talking points. Mr T is an example of that criticism….they spout talking points and becasue they don’t have opinions of their own.

I don’t doubt the Republicans, just like every other political party, distributes talking points. My point is that Boortz, like most of the hosts at the meeting, doesn’t follow them very well. Pretty much the ONLY thing Boortz agrees with Bush on is the war. He says repeatedly that he would vote Libertarian except he believes the foreign policy of the Libertarian Party is too dangerous and the war on Islamic terror trumps all other issues right now.

Perhaps the agreement on foreign policy is a matter of just that….agreement. Or “agreeance” as the Dufus Dems were spouting from their talking points a few years ago. Remember “gravitas”???
