Streetalk: Do you like being stared at?

Adam: I don’t notice it as much as other people do. I guess I’ve blocked it out. I’m not really an attention whore as much as people would assume I am. I accept it, but if I had a choice, I’d rather just blend in with the crowd. Some people look at me and think I’m a disgusting-looking person. Of course I don’t like that. The crunched forehead, squinting eyes, mouth gaping open in shock, like I’m some alien. I’ve looked weird as hell since I was 10. It’s something I’m accustomed to.
Cipherkenni: If it comes with a really good, heartfelt compliment, yes. But [otherwise], I hate being stared at. Ogling me is like you going to a freak show and me not getting paid for it. I sell albums out here all day and I get stared at quite a bit. Be inquisitive, not insinuative. People look at me sometimes like I’m going to rob them, especially when the night hour starts to fall. It’s that insecure ogle of distrust I don’t like. It’s the whole judging a book by its cover.
Emily: I work in Little Five Points. You are going to get looked at. I’ve fallen victim to that and I sort of have this problem where I have to continue talking to people, kind of like what I’m doing right now, long after it stopped being fun. Sometimes if I’m feeling good and feeling cute, it’s not so bad. It’s usually young, teenage indie-rock kids that think they can try something on me, which isn’t true. Or the usual locals, at least twice my age, always trying to say something to me.

Dude, how much money have you spent on NOT blending in with the crowd?
And why are people staring at Emily? Is that picture too close-cropped to ’splain why? Or is it ’cause she looks “normal” in L5P?
