C.T. Martin’s thong song

August 23, 2007 at 9:31 am by Andisheh Nouraee in News

Atlanta City Councilman C.T. Martin has a very, very, VERY stupid idea:

Exposed boxer shorts and thongs would be illegal in any public place in Atlanta if the City Council approves a proposed amendment to the city’s indecency laws. …

“Little children see it and want to adopt it, thinking it’s the in thing,” Martin said Wednesday. “I don’t want young people thinking that half-dressing is the way to go. I want them to think about their future.”

Half-dressing can ruin your future.

Half-thinking, however, will get you an Atlanta City Council seat.

My question is how much of the city’s money will he spend on this and how many police officers could that have hired?

  2. atlpaddy Says:

Well, at least C.T. Martin is consistent in his dumbassery.

  3. Blackadder Says:

Given the reactions from a number of people calling this “racist profiling”, it is fairly ironic that the ordanance was proposed by a black man.

*Disclaimer, post is half-black as well. :D

  4. scully gomez Says:

I can just see it now, a man getting a ticket for “baggy pants” while standing under a Calvin Klein billboard showing some zoolander in tighty whiteys.

  5. Gary Anderson, Duluth Says:

This is another way of being able to profile our children and gives the poilce another reason to stop young black males in particular.

This is part and parcel of the re-gentrification of the city of Atlanta.

Here’s an even CRAZIER IDEA…Wear your damn pants like they are supposed to be and stop letting them hang…I think it is absolutely stupid to have to walk around holding up your pants all day…

  7. Jack Stearns Jr. Says:

But here is an even CRAZIER IDEA THAN THAT , people trying to impose their own ideas and beliefs upon other people because of the way they dress just for the sheer fact that THEY think it is the way it should be. I think everyone should be a little more tolerant of others and the differences that make us unique. That is the idea that our country was founded upon. Why do people in general think that because they beleive something is right that it gives them the right to impose their views upon someone else’s way of life. If you believe that something should be done a certain way then do it that way, but don’t try to impose your thoughts and views upon someone else. I think that is is ignorant to wear your pants down so low that your butt hangs out too. But do we still have the right to choose? or should we make all decisions a thing of the past and make everything a law?

Would anyone want to eat a sandwich that had been prepared by someone touching their underwear or holding their pants up almost continuously? How about going to a buffet where the guy before you keeps touching his? How about if a child moletser wears his that way so they can “accidentally fall down” exposing himself to your wife or children just so he gets his jollies “legally”? This isn’t about preventing “freedom” it’s about standing up for ours too. I want a PG world- do whatever you want inside your own house but in public pretend you had a mother that raised you NOT to be a heathen and be a decent human being for the rest of us.

I think a song about Pulling Your Pants UP! is a GREAT IDEA!!

James Brown and his sister Fannie Brown have been concerned about this very thing for several years. Before he died, James told his sister Fannie that he wanted her to carry on his work in getting the message out to the kids about respecting themselves and their parents by acting like the blessed people they are.

Fannie got all the members of James Brown’s past bands like: The Soul Generals, The Famous Flames, The JB’s and others and had them put that HOT AND FUNKY JAMES BROWN SOUND to this song called:

“Pull Your Pants UP! U SAGGIN!”

    Check it out here: http://www.GodSisterOfSoul.com

    Peace!
