Letter from alleged BMF leader to judge: Let me out
September 7, 2007 at 9:00 am by Mara Shalhoup in BMF, NewsIt’s been nearly two years since the feds nabbed the alleged co-leaders of an interstate cocaine ring called the Black Mafia Family — and have kept them locked up while awaiting trial.
One of the two men, the flashy, Atlanta-based hip-hop entrepreneur and street legend Demetrius “Big Meech” Flenory, is now asking that the judge allow his release from jail. Of the 41 defendants charged in the federal indictment, only Meech and his brother (and alleged co-leader) Terry “Southwest T” Flenory have been denied bond.
The Flenorys and six co-defendants are scheduled for a November trial in federal court in Detroit, where the brothers allegedly birthed a $270 million cocaine empire before establishing hubs in Atlanta and L.A. If convicted of running a continuing criminal enterprise, the Flenorys face a life sentence.
In a letter dated last month and filed yesterday in U.S. District Court, Meech writes:
I am by no means a “flight risk,” I am a god fearing man of honor. … My mother is very stressed out ’cause both of her sons are in jail and our family has never experience [sic] anything like this, so I’m asking that you please consider giving me a bond. … All I am asking you for is a “chance” to be with my family in case I have to go to prison for the first time in my life.
The brothers might have to wait more than a few months for the long-awaited resolution of their case. An order filed yesterday by one of Meech’s attorneys describes how the feds continue to introduce new evidence, and as a result, “the government knows that a new trial date will probably need to be set.”

You have had the best BMF coverage on this site. Not to be funny or anything, but he should have had his lawyer write that letter for him.

47, I don’t see where you get off finding him guilty of selling cocaine? I don’t see anywhere in any indictment or evidence presented thus far that he was found, seen, or anywhere near kilos of cocaine. Except these supposed DEA witnesses who make such claims, but I’m sure they’d say anything the feds want to hear to avoid the sentence for getting caught with 100 kilos. It’s the same ol’ story: people make poor choices and get caught up with something, then because of their poor moral character they must be the cause of another man’s downfall to save themselves temporarily.
Facts are, the most drugs he seems to have been proven to be in possession of or near is the marijuana and ecstasy at his arrest — not exactly kilos of coke.
If you support the man, I’d think you’d not want to label him guilty to anyone and everyone.

come on circlecity lets not be stupid about this……….firstly what i post on this is very very unlikely to effect anything or anyone, if the US gov want him they’ll most likely get him.
“I don’t see where you get off finding him guilty of selling cocaine?”
the man had million dollar homes, million dollar cars, million dollars worth of jewelry yet has no job……ok the CEO of bmf ent which in reality didnt do too much. so a pretty simple question? where did all this $$$ just magically appear from? $50,000 at strip clubs????
i support meech 100% but lets not lie to ourselves…..where theres smoke theres fire, i just dont really feel theres much wrong with what he did, someone was going to do it!!!

Now the sagga is over. I was in court on yesterday 9/12/08 and they both got sentenced to 30 yrs each. Plus Meech as a $270mill judgment against him, so he cant even get money on his books without them taking it ad applying it to the fine. Another blackman fall to the game without a plan to get out.

Now watch for Young Keexy to get gaffled since another BMF hommie just testified this week in the atl and stated he gave Jeezy at least 100 keys in the past of the BMF Empire. Ballers fail to realized that God has to answers parents prayers to deliver their children off of drugs. They make God’s job harder to save His people.

Terry said he was back a Christina every since he was gaffled in 2005, but he still glamorizes the game. This is whats so sad. Its a cat n mouse game and those boys just wait for you to rise to the top and then come in and seize it all and then give you a gang of time. The win everytime. It might look glamourous, but God hates SIN.
