Brand Atlanta and CL spoofed

I like the line about the aquarium and the description of CL writers as “self important douche bags” — which probably just makes me seem like even more of a self-important douche bag. Oh well.

They asked Don Henley. They asked Isaac Hayes. And then Burt Bacharach.
But it was Dolly Parton that answered the call.
This past Thursday, Dolly Parton showed up to Mayor Franklin’s office unannounced, toting a didgeredoo and quote,” some German guy” with a Moog synthesizer. After handing the mayor a bundle of daffodils, she started into her song.
It was a gift to the city of Atlanta.
Others crowded the doorway and began to chant along with the tune. By bizarre coincidence, former Georgia State governor George Busbee was there retrieving some old pictures of himself with Howard Finster and Burt Reynolds. He commented on the song saying,”Well, I thought I had been dead for a few years, but then I heard Dolly singing about Atlanta so pretty…and now im not sure if im dreaming or dead”
The Governor proceeded to elaborate in a manner that we media types like to refer to as “too prurient for publication”
Dolly blushes when asked to comment on the Governor’s remarks and quickly focuses her attention on Mayor Franklin and the city of Atlanta.
“Im just so proud to represent Atlanta. Next stop is the Georgia Aquarium! I’m there appealing that they donate all their water to the city.I urge everyone to attend.”
Dolly then modeled her Martha Stewart bikini,(shown here from the creative loafing shoot) and made snide remarks about some of the Loaf’s staff writers.
“Honey, pardon my french, but I thought i had met some self important douche bags in my time, but those guys over there..they’d make a performance artist cringe.”
She left us singing the song,standing through the roof of her limo throwing peaches into the audience.
The song will be revealed at the steak n shake on pleasant hill rd. this wednesday at noon.

It seems that douche bag is becoming “the” perjorative du jour. Kudos to it’s marketing agent, Mr T hahahahaha

Yeah! Douchebaggery rules. Dale, I hate to do this because we have become so close recently but my contractual obligations require me to call you a douche at least once a week. Dale is a douche.
