October 24, 2007 at 10:22 am by Andisheh Nouraee in News, Randomly NotedHave you recently or persistently suffered discrimination because of your appearance?
Do you think people treat you badly because of the way you look, dress or groom yourself?
Are you an experienced restaurant or bar server passed up for jobs at trendy restaurants because you don’t look like a model?
If so, give me a call at 404-614-1888 or e-mail me at andisheh@creativeloafing.com. I’m working on a story for which you might be able to help.

i don’t know if it was discrimination but she didn’t offer me a sip of her water after she made the comment:

here is the mid-ga noun report for today:
discrimination n. unequal treatment of persons, for a reason which has nothing to do with legal rights or ability. Federal and state laws prohibit discrimination in employment, availability of housing, rates of pay, right to promotion, educational opportunity, civil rights, and use of facilities based on race, nationality, creed, color, age, sex, or sexual orientation. The rights to protest discrimination or enforce one’s rights to equal treatment are provided in various federal and state laws, which allow for private lawsuits with the right to damages. There are also federal and state commissions to investigate and enforce equal rights.

There’s only one job I’ve actually applied for within the past couple of years. In that case, the other guy was definitely better looking, despite the red hair. :-D

Joe, next time you see me I’ll be back as a giggling blond. I promise. This whole live-life-as-a-redhead thing has not turned out for me the why I’d hoped.
