Time and Place: Poised

This week’s Time and Place photo comes from 855 Peachtree Street NE.
When considering which photo to use I was asked if this image was posed. I always think this is a somewhat loaded question. In this situation I did ask the subject if I could take his photo before I took it. He was aware that I was taking the photo — does that make it posed? I think any time I take my camera out in public and people see that I am taking their picture, they act differently. Is that posing? Does that make the photograph less genuine and less factual?
