Live PSC debates to “air” today
July 2, 2008 at 11:34 am by Scott Henry in NewsThe Atlanta Press Club and Georgia Public Broadcasting are leveraging the Interweb to show the scintillating Public Service Commission debates live online today. One of the two races is for the 4th District seat, which is wide open after Angela Spier declined to run for reelection. There will be two half-hour debates, the first a 2 p.m. between GOP candidates Pam Davidson and Lauren “Bubba” McDonald Jr., followed at 3 p.m. by the second between Democrats Bob Indech and Jim Powell.
The good thing about putting debates online is that it’s like having them TiVo’d, meaning you can watch them any time you want. GPB has done a great job in the last few years archiving video of the shenanigans down at the General Assembly. You can access the station’s videos of the PSC and other debates here.

I’m not sure about any other viewers out there, but for those who didn’t catch the Public Service Commission debate between Republicans Pam Davidson vs Lauren McDonald Jr. & Democrats Jim Powell vs Bob Indech missed a good one. In my opinion, JIM POWELL stands out by far amongst the other candidates! The man is truly polished, highly-experienced, creative & has an honest, yet no-nonsense style that would come in hand when dealing with both sneaky utility company executives and typical politicians who attempt to pull a financial fast one on the general consumer like you & me! Jim Powell is someone whom I believe would be a strong voice (for once) when speaking up for ALL Georgia residents.
Hopefully, more voters will recognize that and join me in supporting him by voting for JIM POWELL for the Public Service Commission of Georgia on Tuesday, July 15. Otherwise, don’t complain when your utility bills continue to rise to the point where you can no longer afford to have electric and other necessities to operate your household.
