My favorite Skip moments came when he'd try to kill time during another sorry Braves performance, often by observing fan behavior in the stands. It was like enjoying the horror with an understanding friend.
My least-favorite was trying to extract something interesting -- anything interesting -- from him for a radio-TV column I was writing about on the 20-year anniversary of his lone year as the FSU football radio play-by-play man. That year would be 1973, when FSU went 0-11. I can understand his reticence now.
Thanks for the memories, Skip.
