Prequels suck. These films are so bad that if they were not named Star Wars they would have never been made.

What Philip Frey said. The first two prequels are good films, ROTS is an excellent film (and I saw ANH in the cinema in 1977, so I'm a long time fan of the OT). I went into Clone Wars with no expectations, and for what it is (basically a pilot for a kids TV series) I found it very entertaining, inventive, faithful, and at times genuinely funny, and a worthy opening chapter for a new series.

This movie will not be seen by enough people and Ziro is not as central a character as Jar Jar in order for him to equal the irrational attitude given the earlier character.

I find it interesting that you actually wanted Lucas to stop the film and spell his entire complex plot out for the audience. Some of us (well, I did, anyway) understood the complexity of the prequels right from the beginning. I told everyone at the time that Phantom Menace was a setup for the rest. "Episode I", if you will. That's the reason the episode numbers are mentioned so prominantly. The prequels are much more intimately tied together than the original trilogy. But, honestly, if Palpatine had taken a "here's how I did it" moment, do you think critics would have been kind? Or would they have jumped all over him for being heavy-handed? The latter, I think.

And, no, the prequels are not as "reviled" as you seem to think. It's like some urban myth that's been repeated so many times you start to believe it. "Evryone hates the prequels." Expect it isn't even close to true. Not only do all three films rate as "fresh" at Rotten Tomatoes, indicating a solid majority of reviews were positive, you can check their numbers on any Site that aggregates opinions and you'll find they are all liked just fine, particularly III.

Oddly enough, it is certain people who call themselves "fans" that dislike the films the most and fuel this silly hatred towards them.

And, btw, "The Clone Wars" is a fine introduction to the upcoming series; nothing more, nothing less. It was fun, interesting and certainly held my attention for its entire length. (No, I didn't care for Ziro, but he's hardly a deal breaker.)
