Artists, whether on the left or on the right, are generally scared shitless to make a political comment from the gut, and if so, rarely get published. Steve Sweny is not afraid to express his thoughts… and with artistic talent.

Just because your a local weather girl, 4 years on the city council and 6 years as the mayor of a town with less than 7,000 people, 20 months as the governor of a state with only 650,000 people, may not make you qualified to become the country’s second highest ranking executive. But i don’t think it makes you a nasty, scatological and low rent Pig. i choked on my bagel. After all she”s just a nice mom that doesn’t believe in dinosaurs .

Very 21st Century, this illustration nonetheless harkens back to the pointed political satire of Thomas Nast and David Levine. Like the portrait of Kramer on “Seinfeld”—it is hideous, but I can’t take my eyes off it.(This comment somehow was posted under the Brian Nichols blog).
