It’s hardly canard, Robert. As a mayor and governor, Palin has/had no power to have creationism taught in public schools. But it’s well-documented that Palin believes in creationism and, according to Andrew Sullivan’s web site, she helped push a drive to get like-minded evangelicals elected to her local school board.

And James, come on. You can’t pick a female version of Dan Quayle to be your VP and not expect to get ribbed about it.

Can we please stop perpetuating the canard that Palin thinks “creationism should be taught in the public schools”? There are plenty (plenty!) of reasons to criticize the McCain/Palin ticket for, but this ain’t one of ‘em. [See http://www.factcheck.org/elections-2008/sliming_palin.html ]
