Was Barry Goldwater (or would he have been) against the War on Drugs? He made his peace with abortion, so I have to think it is possible.

As long as the Libertarian Party doesn't end up as "the new GOP" or "GOP Lite," I'm thrilled that people who truly believe in liberty may be joining us in our long-haul struggle to roll back government that is currently in our wallets, in our bedrooms, and too much in our faces, to a degree never envisioned by the Founders (except as they imagined or recalled tyranny).

The Libertarian Party has as much room for disgruntled Democrats as disgruntled Republicans. If liberty for all is your aim, you'll be the life of the party!
