A libertarian is a republican without all the Christian undertones. Calling yourself a Libertarian does not distance you from the Republican party. I love when people are concerned about illegal aliens. I work for a company that has a shipping department. The whole warehouse is made up of a Latino work force that i doubt are legal. But guess what, they all have fake social security numbers. They all have taxes taken out of their checks. They also pay sales taxes on everything they buy. And they all work very hard. The myth that illegals are being paid cash is just that: a myth. We also deal with alot of contractors. Most of these AMERICAN CITIZENS prefer to have their customers pay in cash. Why you might ask?? TAX PURPOSES.

You know, i am weary with the aggressive nature and tone of those who oppose the fair tax when they attempt to argue their points. Get your facts right before you dismiss it, and tear it down. Read something. This is a military tactic you get on board with; KNOW YOUR ENEMY.

My thoughts on this issue take a cynical view, likely because of the inaccurate ways and means by which the people who wish to keep us under the heavy burden of the status quo, have taken as their tactics.

As i see it, the fair tax will likely never see the light of day, because the lies the opponents spread have duped the ignorant morons of the public into believing that original tax prices would remain, while an additional 23% would be added to what we already pay.

That's simply, not how it goes Mr. Sugg. It's a replacement of our current system, not an addition to it. There would be nothing additional whatsoever. Look at it like this, every paycheck you get, the government takes their cut. This would be the end of that. No more tax deductions from your pay. We would all, make more money.

What's not to like about that?

The facts here seem to indicate that since Boortz is not black, nor is he a vehement supporter of Barack Obama, suddenly any and all points of view he supports are invalid.

He's not a democrat! So burn him at the stake!

You know what's the underlying cause of this? Where does the motivation for this opposition originate? Reverse racism.

But no, Boortz is not a republican, either. So get your story straight, know your enemy, before you attempt to dismantle their talking points.

So, you oppose the idea because Boortz and Linder support it. Brilliant. Oppose every idea from someone you don't like. Thinking like that is what prevented Bush from re-regulating Fannie and Freddie in 2003.

People who make those large sums have sophisticated financial measures in place so that they do not show all of that money as income. They can get loopholes created by the Congressmen they buy.

The "rich" consume FAR more than the poor and this would tax them more effectively than our loophole ridden tax code.

The Fair Tax will also catch the black market in the US. Even criminals like Big Meech and all those "undocumented workers" would pay Federal taxes.

Tell me, have you actually read the book or just the talking points against the Fair Tax?

Apparently John is very pro-IRS, and very against the idea that illegal immigrants and drug dealers should have to pay taxes. Let us not try to dissuade him from his genius.

John grow the other side of your brain. It kills the IRS and gets them out of your bedroom. You pay tax only on what you buy excludung housing, food and clothing. The budget will balance every year because it chages every year. The cost of good s don't go up because there is so much embedded tax now that the 23% wouldn't compare. READ UP on it before you make a comment.

The fair tax is a scam. Just look at the people promoting it. Bortz has all the credibility of Shawn Hannity and you expect us to take you seriously?

The fair tax shifts the tax burden off the very rich and onto the middle class. The claim that the fairtax will generate the same revenues is ridiculous. If you tax based on consumption then you are decreasing the tax on the very rich. Someone making 12 million a year does not consume 4 times more than someone making 4 million a year. That difference has to be made up by increasing the amounts the middle class pays.

The fair tax is a scam that preys on the fact that people do not like the IRS and they do not like taxes. It's promoters like Bortz love to misrepresent and sensationalize the evil government "putting a gun to your head" to collect taxes. They believe that taxes should be paid by the working people and the rich should get a free ride. They support billions of dollars tax breaks to big oil during record profit periods. Then we are expected to believe that Neal Bortz is suddenly on the side of being “Fair”. What the fair tax does not tell you is who they think they are being fair to.

Punishing the poor??? Are you kidding? The poor will make out on this because they will only pay tax on anything that is not an essential. In this scenario everybody pays their fair share, the rich can have their large homes, boats, etc taxed appropriately and the poor will only pay taxes on any extras they want to purchase keeping more money in their pocket to use for education so that they can improve their quality of life.

You obviously are ignorant about the Fair Tax. First of all, it eliminates all your income tax witholdings so you will get a full paycheck and for retirees 100% of their pensions. It would not tax necessities and spending on education. Read FAIR TAX: The Truth.
