Pollster: Georgia a “toss-up” in President, Senate races
October 26, 2008 at 11:52 pm by Thomas Wheatley in NewsThis is going to be an interesting week. And a busy one.
Pollster, a website that somehow eats every single political poll IN THE WORLD and then burps them out in color-coded maps, says Georgia is now a “toss up” between John McCain and Barack Obama. Yep, Georgia.
Wonkette says no way, but we’ll see.
Pollster’s also calling “toss up” about Georgia’s U.S. Senate seat. Nearly everyone thought incumbent Republican Saxby Chambliss would easily win a second term in his race against Democratic nominee Jim Martin and Libertarian challenger Allen Buckley. Turns out all of ‘em — me included — were wrong. Signs point to a run off in that race.

Ya know what’s cracking me up today? Mass media soundbites like this from the political clowns/media go-to-guys at Emory U. From 11AliveClusterF*ckNews:
‘Democrats have picked up enough Senate seats nationally to pull within striking distance of a filibuster-proof 60-member supermajority. If it happens, the harsh glare of the national spotlight would turn to Georgia.
Big money and big-name politicos would descend upon the state.
Attack ads would flood the airwaves for weeks in what could be one of the nastiest political races the state has seen in recent years.
While he wouldn’t say that scenario is likely, Emory University political scientist Alan Abramowitz says “it is definitely more than a remote possibility.”‘
Not ONE of these soft drink wunderkinds has EVER hinted at the SLIGHTEST possibility of Georgia going blue. (IA’s Mat Towery has been the lone voice in THAT piney woods.)
Until now.
